Finding the value in MVPs

The Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) adjusts payments based on performance in quality, improvement activities, interoperability, and cost. But its measures often don't fit specialty-specific workflows, which makes reporting harder than it should be.

To close that gap, CMS is introducing MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs) to streamline reporting and better match specialty needs. As CMS plans to phase out traditional MIPS, practices that adopt MVPs early can prepare for scoring changes, reduce staff burden, and focus on patient care.
