We’re proud to announce that our Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Matt Gitelis, has been recognized as one of The Top Healthcare Technology CEOs of 2025 by The Healthcare Technology Report. This honor underscores Matt’s vision for a healthcare system where success is defined by patient outcomes—not assumptions, volume, or anecdote. Under his leadership, PatientIQ is helping shift the industry toward a more transparent, data-driven, and patient-centered future by enabling providers to measure what truly matters to patients and use those insights to continuously improve care. Matt’s work is helping lay the foundation for an outcomes-first healthcare ecosystem that benefits patients, providers, and the broader healthcare system alike.

Title: Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Matthew Gitelis is the Founder and CEO of PatientIQ, a healthcare analytics platform built to automate the collection of patient-reported outcomes and turn real-world data into actionable clinical insight. Drawing on his experience in finance, medicine, research, and technology, he built PatientIQ to make outcomes data easier to capture and apply in clinical decisions.
Matthew began his professional career as an investment banking analyst at BMO Capital Markets, advising on mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises across North America. Seeking a more direct impact, he later enrolled at Rush Medical College. While in medical school, he founded PatientIQ in 2016 and conducted outcomes research at leading academic medical centers in Chicago. There he encountered firsthand the limitations of manual data extraction and outdated analytics in clinical care. In 2019, he left medical school to lead PatientIQ full-time.
Under Matthew’s leadership, PatientIQ has grown into a national network spanning more than 800 healthcare organizations, 12,000 sites of care, and over 14 million patients, with more than 50 million patient-reported outcomes collected. He is an author on more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and a frequent presenter at global academic conferences.
In March 2025, Matthew oversaw PatientIQ’s launch of DataPRO, a market intelligence product delivering instant benchmarking insights from one of the industry’s largest proprietary datasets of patient-reported outcomes, expanding the platform’s real-world evidence capabilities. He holds an MD from Rush Medical College and completed pre-medical studies at Northwestern University.
